Common Sense is not very common!
Another American has fallen victim to the desire so many of us seem to have to “Be Somebody”, and this time the result was deadly.
Police in Denver say a 42-year-old man died from an obstructed air way while competing in a doughnut-eating contest.
It happened at a place called the Voodoo Doughnut shop while contestants were trying to eat a half pound glazed doughnut in 2 minutes or less.
He didn’t win!
He was dead by the time paramedics arrived on the scene early Sunday.
I am never disappointed at my wonder as to what some of us will do for that 30 seconds of fame.
Those that clamor for that viral Facebook, Twitter, or Snapchat post.
I’ve done some things that, looking back, seem kind of stupid in my earlier years.
But I must admit, eating faster and more of it than others in a doughnut shop contest never crossed my mind.
I guess the victim’s family can take some solace in the fact that his obituary did make the national wire.
That’s the way I see it.
