The report from ESPN and Yahoo sports of a bribery payment involving a key recruit and the men’s basketball coach at Arizona made public over the weekend is just the latest scandal to rock the world of college basketball.
The reports, based on FBI garnered wiretaps, have me wondering a couple of things…
What is our nation’s top law enforcement agency doing getting involved in college sports?
Wouldn’t it seem like they might have better things to do?
Who is the victim, other than those who might be betting for or against Arizona men’s basketball?
Isn’t it time that players get at least a tiny share of the money their universities make because of them?
Most of the people I’ve talked with about the Arizona story show no surprise at all.
That may be the saddest part of the entire story.
That’s the way I see it.
