I wrote last month about the tremendous work a group of young volunteers from the Landeck and Delphos areas had done in organizing a fundraiser to help to defray some of the medical expenses facing Landeck area oral cancer patient Tim Trentman.
But I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this tremendous fundraiser once again now that we’ve learned that the 1-day endeavor hosted by the Delphos Recreation Center raised approximately 90 thousand dollars.
That’s correct! 90 thousand dollars through auctions, a corn hole tournament, bowling, and other events put together in a matter of weeks thanks to a tremendous out pouring from individuals and businesses in the area.
We were proud to have played a part in publicizing the event because community involvement has been, and continues to be, at the heart of what we do.
I know that everyone involved is busy, and is uninterested in individual recognition, but I hope the people involved will take just a second to pat themselves on the back for a job very well done.
Sadly, Tim Trentman passed away within hours of the completion of the fundraiser, but I’m sure he is aware of what was done on his behalf by some of his friends.
And a whole lot of people who he didn’t know, or may not have even known him.
That’s the way I see it.
