At a time when the news is dominated with stories detailing arguments and disputes and “disfunctionality” of all types, items like the one below give me faith that the world really isn’t going to Hell in a hand basket as it might sometimes seem-
(Wheeling, WV) — A Vietnam War Veteran from Wheeling is making a big difference in a struggling young boy’s life. Steve Duncil, a retired Marine, recently decided to give his Purple Heart medal to a young boy suffering from cancer. Duncil heard about Dominic Alexander from the boy’s grandfather, also a Vietnam Vet. The men recently held a ceremony to give Dominic the rare medal to encourage him in his cancer battle.
There are still good people out there. Maybe we just need to look harder to find them.
