If I weren’t pretty sure that the information in the Metro News Network story below was likely true, I wouldn’t bother to pass it along.
It seems researchers have discovered something many of us already know, and that’s that social media, and the smart phones and computers that keep many of us tied to our devices, are having an increasing impact on how we feel!
“(Brisbane) — Getting off Facebook can help you reduce stress. A new study examined 138 Facebook users, and found that those who took a five-day break, had a drop in a stress hormone called cortisol. The researchers say the large amount of social information on Facebook could be taxing, and taking a break from it can alleviate stress. On the other hand, the study found that Facebook users also felt unsatisfied with their lives after taking a break, and were eager to resume Facebook activity.”
It seems to me that social media is a lot like other things in life, in that a little of it is okay, but too much of it is not.
That’s the way I see it.
