Something rather unusual happened to me on Sunday. Apparently the folks at Apple must have thought that it was a good time to update Smart Phones like mine. So when I turned on my phone after charging yesterday morning, the Siri app I use was enabled with information on how I had to log in to update my phone. The only problem was, that the information was in a language that sounded to me like Korean or Chinese.
So for about 12 hours, until my daughter and son-in-law were able to return the Siri language to English, my iPhone 5 was nothing more than a very expensive, paperweight.
I was disconnected from anyone who didn’t have my land line number. There were no texts, no tweets, no fake news updates. Honestly, it was kind of cool!
I’m not the guy who has to have his phone at his side at all times so the loss of the iPhone service wasn’t as devastating as I’m sure it would be for other folks I know. When I turned it on this morning all of Sundays messages were right there waiting on me. My phone is working once again and Siri is at least understanding about half of what I tell her to do.
Life is back to normal.
That’s the way I see it.
