If you receive a lot of email, text, and/or social media messages, I’m betting there is a word or phrase that drives you nuts.
I’ve come to the realization that for me, that word is “remember”.
Right or wrong, intended that way or not, the word “remember” results in the same reaction in me that many feel when they hear fingernails on a chalkboard.
“Remember” implies that some earlier bit of information may have been disregarded or forgotten…
Or that I’m somehow unable to properly gauge the importance of earlier information…
Or worse, that I’m incapable of acting on some previously laid-out task.
Admittedly it’s an over-reaction, but the word “remember” in a message makes it at least a little more likely that I’m going to disregard any information that follows it.
Regardless of our age, we all do have a childish streak don’t we!
That’s the way I see it!
