What was your first reaction when you learned that 1970’s Sitcom star Erin Moran had passed away at the age of 56?
I’ll admit it!
I suspected immediately that she’d taken her own life or had been the victim of an overdose.
I’ll also admit that’s a very sad commentary on the way we’ve grown to think about celebrities who leave us too soon.
As the story below details, she appears to have been the victim of cancer.
“(Harrison County, IN) — It looks like “Happy Days” star Erin Moran likely died from stage four cancer. The Harrison County, Indiana, Sheriff’s Department and medical examiner issued a statement Monday detailing the finding after an autopsy was completed. The statement said no illegal drugs were found at the 56-year-old Moran’s residence. Her body was found on Saturday. Moran played Joanie Cunningham in the hit 1970s sitcom.”
Everyone’s sweetheart has been taken from us, as so many others have, by a disease we all need to work harder to do what we can to find a cure.
That’s the way I see it.
