Spring is here, but seems in no hurry to give us weather even as nice as we had in mid February.
Because the sports calendar mandates it, the high school baseball and softball seasons are underway.
For players, moms and dads, & grandparents too, that means afternoons and Saturdays in early spring huddled up against windy and chilly conditions.
Occasionally dodging rain drops & even an occasional snow shower.
My favorite high school sport is baseball, but I must admit that some of the games we witnessed when our son was playing were anything but fun.
It’s a shame we don’t have an area indoor facility big enough to accommodate high school games.
Maybe I’ll suggest to President Trump that he should include it in his trillion dollar infrastructure proposal?
I think it makes as much sense as building a bridge to nowhere, or a habitat to protect some snail or bug…which our government has been known to do in the past.
In the mean time, I can only suggest that if you have a youngster who’s playing spring sports, enjoy the experience as much as you can.
Because it will be over in a flash, and you’ll then have to rely on the fond memories about your youngsters…or bad memories about brutal weather!
That’s the way I see it.
