No matter who you are or where you live, cancer has no doubt been a sad reality for you or some of those near and dear to your heart.
A pair of weekend events in Delphos that we’re happy to help to promote on Fun 107.1 have the goal of raising funds for research into cures for this devastating disease and services used by those suffering because of it.
The 15th annual “Relay for Life” in Delphos will run this Friday night from 6 until midnight at Stadium Park in Delphos.
There are activities planned for people of all ages, including a swim party at the municipal swimming pool.
New to the event his year is a basketball skills competition for adults and children who deal with a physical, or mental disability.
It will be my honor to serve as MC for the relay’s opening ceremony.
Rick Burgei will join me as we provide some announcing for the special needs event at 7PM Friday evening.
Saturday, our friends at the Delphos Animal Hospital will host their annual “Bark For Life” dog walk in Delphos’s leisure park from 2 until 4 P.M.
You can find out more about the “Bark For Life” on the Delphos animal hospital Facebook page.
Events like the “Relay For Life”, and “Bark For Life’ provide a great opportunity for us all to hasten the day when cancer is just a sad part of our history.
That’s the way I see it.
