For whatever reason, it seems to me that it takes less to make me smile than it used to in the past.
I find myself happy just to walk outside at 2:00 a.m. for my trek to work, and don’t need spikes on my shoes or a ski mask to cover my face.
I relish simple things like the necklace I got as a Christmas gift with my grandchildren’s names on it in braille.
And though winter is my least favorite season of them all, I don’t waste time wishing it were April or May anymore because so many cool things could happen between now and then that I wouldn’t want to miss.
Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but whatever it is, it’s a much better way to go through life thinking the glass is half full instead of half empty.
That’s the way I see it.
