As I write this, a multi-state man hunt is continuing for Cleveland’s Steve Stephens.
Stephens used social media over the weekend to inform the world that he had murdered an elderly man he targeted for no apparent reason what-so-ever.
Facebook operators are bristling at suggestions that Stephens went “live” to post the crime, saying instead that he just posted the video as if somehow that made his actions more acceptable.
What Stephens did proves that if there was any doubt, evil is alive and well…and that it’s faces aren’t just those of terrorists.
It will also spark renewed debate about what social media has become as many users seem intent on getting noticed any way they can…good or bad!!
Social Media is only as good, or as bad, as the people who use it.
It showcases the best of us…and the worst of us…to the rest of us.
That’s the way I see it.
