5 degree temps didn’t slow down SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOLS
It was very cold in Delphos Saturday morning, but despite single digit temperatures some 65 children and adults were out and about early putting up signs in support of the Delphos School District’s one-half of one percent income tax issue on the March primary ballot. We’re used to braving chilly weather for outdoor sporting events but it’s rare there is enough interest in a ballot issue to cause people to do it. There is obviously concern among many district parents and students as to how their schools will be impacted if the issue fails, and the fact that nasty weather didn’t deter them is proof of that. Regardless of your opinion on the issue, I think you’d have to agree that the level of community involvement concerning this proposal has reached a point we haven’t seen in several years in our community. If you’d like to learn more about the school district proposal you’ll want to attend a public meeting to be held at 7:00 O’clock tonight at the Delphos Knights of Columbus hall, so you can become an informed voter on the issue. That’s the way I see it.
