“Tis the season” for the company Christmas party!
If your company is like most, the gathering you’ll attend will be much different than it would have been a few short years ago.
Back in the day, as we are fond of saying, many Christmas parties took place on Christmas eve with little concern for how you’d get home…or even if you would arrive home in time for Santa to show up.
During my days playing in a band back in the 70’s, we played for a lot of Christmas parties where there was no such thing as a drink limit and the attendees responded accordingly.
As we’ve gotten smarter, and alcohol enforcement has stiffened, the office party has become a much calmer event that doesn’t last as long.
And, in turn, won’t generally result in nearly so many embarrassing stories or apologies once completed.
Given all of the publicity surrounding misconduct allegations against high profile entertainers and politicians, I’m pretty sure the one thing you won’t see at your office Christmas party this year is Mistletoe.
That’s the way I see it.
