I honestly think President Trump, who’s been described as the consumate professional in using social media to his benefit, was caught completely off guard for a change.
I’m referring to the outrage expressed since photos of children, separated from adults who accompanied them across the US/Mexico border captured the news cycle spotlight earlier this month.
I would have thought he would have learned about the old addage that a picture is worth a thousand words in this case
Those photos caused the commander-in-chief to eat some of his words when he signed an executive order temporarily ending adult-children separation yesterday after first saying he couldn’t do so.
We americans have very soft spots for children, as we should, but conservatives contend that at least some of the detainees are child-smugglers with plans to use the kids who accompany them in sex or drug trafficing.
It may be an over-simplification, but doesn’t our government have the capability to use DNA testing to make sure that the adults who are detained are actually related to the children they took across the border.
That would make great sense to me.
That’s the way I see it.
