We now have what many of us have been waiting for since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic a year ago. That’s a definition of what the end-game goal is of efforts to control the spread of the Coronavirus. It came in a state wide address Thursday from Governor Mike DeWine. He pledge that if per capita virus case numbers drop to 50 per 100 thousand over a 2-week period All pandemic related health department mandates in Ohio will be eliminated. The per capita case number right now stands at 179. The announcement came as a dramatic recent drop in virus cases continues and I think may have been at least in part the result of pressure from Ohio’s business leaders and republican state law makers who have been demanding for months to know when mandates would end without legislative intervention. Current numbers indicate Ohio still has a way to go in it’s fight against the virus But at least for today there is a hopeful sign that we may be able to shed our masks and return to life as we knew it prior to march 2,020 sooner rather than later. That’s the way I see it.
