Because I regard the people who take the time to listen to us and read what I write as family, and because I’ve had to share what I think is more than a healthy helping of less than great news over the past year, I wanted to pass along some positive news for a change.
I learned that what had been scheduled as 5th and 6th chemotherapy treatments for my bladder cancer later this month have been canceled.
That is, to say the least, outstanding news as anyone who’s ever been through chemo will testify.
A recent scan showing no spread of cancer outside my bladder, and concerns over potential long term side effects that could worsen with additional chemotherapy treatments, have promted the decision which had me smiling late yesterday.
A fairly significant surgery, which is yet to be scheduled, is still ahead along with more time off work than i’d like to recover.
But we’ll celebrate yesterday as a “Victory Day” in the struggle, as I thank you all for your continued concern and prayers.
We’ll press on…because that’s what we do.
That’s the way I see it.
