With all of the negativity that seems to surround us this year, I have a challenge for you. Try to find something to be positive about today. If you need help, I may have something. Despite the negative economic impact the coronavirus has had on many of us, despite the stress that’s come with dealing with virus concerns and the complaining we all like to do about taxes, all of the school and municipal tax issues on the ballot in the November general election in our area were approved. True, the vast majority were renewal requests that wouldn’t raise taxes, but a majority of voters who could have decided to vote no, didn’t do it. At least this time around, voters seemed to be willing to continue to pony up to support their schools safety services, and other municipal functions those issues raise money for. A majority of tax payers supported their schools and voted to keep the wheels of local government turning. That’s the way I see it.
