We want the people we consider our nation’s health experts to act with extreme caution, and that is what it appears they are doing with an order from the Food And Drug Administration and the Centers For Disease Control Tuesday mandating at least a temporary pause in administration of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson Coronavirus vaccine. The order came after 6 of the almost 7 million Americans who have taken that shot, all of them women between the ages of 18 and 48 had developed a serious blood clotting disorder, leading to the death of one of them. At first glance that number may seem very small. You may think that if almost 7 million people injected any medication in to their bodies, some would experience complications. But, federal health officials say they want more time to study the issue. They’ve scheduled a meeting on it today. In the meantime there are still Pfizer and Maderna vaccines available to you if you agree with our country’s health experts that the risk of vaccination complications is outweighed by the benefit of getting vaccinated against the Coronavirus. That’s the way I see it.
