If I were a snarky Cleveland Browns fan I might write today that last night’s Cincinnati Bengals win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Monday night NFL  game of the week, was as close to a Christmas miracle as we are likely to see this year. But, since I’m not that guy, I won’t poke any such jab at my Bengals fan friends today. That’s because for most of the past 25 years I’ve been on  the wrong end of jokes about my favorite NFL team.  The Bengals 3^rd win in a disappointing season came by a score of 27 to 17 last night and at least for a few hours gave Bengals fans something to smile about. How over-paid professional athletes perform has very little real impact on any of us but if you are a fan of the Bengals their upset win  did provide a little pleasant  diversion in what’s been a disastrous season.  More futility is likely ahead for the Bengals, but at least for today their fans can celebrate a win on national television. That’s the way I see it.
