Bev Jettinghoff REMEMBERED…..
When Bev Jettinghoff passed away at the age of 62 on June 20th of last year, we lost a committed volunteer for the Up To The Challenge special needs program in our community, and a woman everyone knew as an animal lover like few others. Bev’s legacy is being carried on in Delphos thanks to a major contribution from her husband Tom, memorial contributions from friends and an Ohio Department of Natural Resources grant. A new dog park encompasses 1 acre of previously unused city of Delphos owned land in Suever Park off South Bredeick Street. At the recently opened park large and small dogs have separate areas to play in, separate water fountains for humans and pets, park benches for humans, umbrellas to keep everyone dry when it rains, trash cans and waste bags for clean up. The Bev Jettinghoff Memorial Dog Park has welcomed visitors even on chilly and rainy days so far, and I’m sure many more will follow. I’m sure as I can be that Bev would be honored by what’s been created in her memory in her home town. That’s the way I see it.
