It’s been nice to hear the positive comments about our flip early yesterday morning to All Christmas 24-7 until Christmas on Fun 1071. Christmas music seems to be one of the few remaining things about the way we live that most of us can agree on our like for at least some of the songs you’ll hear over the next 9 days. It’s interesting that many of the songs that are still played today were originally recorded on 78 records by artists who have long since gone to their eternal reward. They’re programmed by people who wouldn’t consider playing a song by Brenda Lee, Nat King Cole or Bing Crosby any other time of the year for one reason, they remain popular. As a grandpa one of my favorite things to do is helping the little grand kids learn the words to songs like Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree. My favorite Christmas songs include anything recorded by Karen Carpenter. I’m pretty sure if I’m ever entertained by a heavenly choir, her voice will be one that I will hear. As to my least favorite Christmas songs that’s easy. Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmas time and the version of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus recorded by then little Michael Jackson are 2 that I’d be happy never to hear again. It’s really OK to admit that we like Christmas music, when it’s played at Christmas time. That’s the way I see it.
