From time to time you hear at least passing reference to the skyrocketing national debt our country is facing.
Usually, it’s in conjunction with an election campaign. At other times the fact that the debt far exceeds 20 trillion dollars barely receives a mention.
Almost as rare is any plan from anyone on how to reduce the size of the debt.
An on line petition that’s garnered more than 7,000 signatures calls on the U.S. government to sell Montana to Canada for a trillion dollars
to erase some of the red ink.
What I hope is a tongue-in-cheek suggestion
That’s been posted also bares a rather unflattering description of the state. “. “We have too much debt and Montana is useless.”That’s pretty harsh to say the least. That’s the way I see it.
