Just back from a California vacation, I had planned to write my first post-vacation blog about our trip, the things I had learned in the land of fruits and nuts, and observations about our stay. However, news I got on Monday during a trip through the Napa Valley take precedence.
Our long time Woofboom Radio colleague Vince Koza was diagnosed with cancer over the weekend and is currently under treatment at The James in Columbus. Vince is a self described “battler” but unfortunately like so many others we know and care for it’s sure he is in for the fight of his life. Unfortunately I can speak from personal experience that when you hear the words “you’ve got cancer” it changes everything about your life and I know you will join me in offering up prayers and support for Vince and his family.
Once again this week I am left wondering how it is that the people we elect and pay well to represent us at the federal level haven’t been convinced to commit the massive amount of resources at our governments disposal to fight a disease which in so many ways effects our families.
I guess they’re too busy grand standing and jockeying for spots on news shows to care about something as devastating as cancer.
That’s the way I see it.
