Perhaps more this year than ever before, these days are days of anticipation! Youngsters are looking at their calendars realizing that Santa’s visit is getting closer every day. We adults too are doing a lot of anticipating. We’re waiting for the end of a year that I think most agree will be very forgettable. We’re watching and hoping for any sign that efforts to control the growing numbers of Coronavirus cases in our area will result in progress we haven’t yet seen. There’s nothing wrong with anticipating or looking ahead, but I think it can be counter productive to wish any time away. Those of us who’ve faced life threatening situations in the past have come to realize that every day we get is a gift. Like gifts, some are just better than others. That’s the way I see it.
