I guess congrats of sorts should be offered to the National Football League.
Our nations’ biggest sports business has managed to shift the focus of fans from National Anthem protests, to blown ref calls in big games.
One such error, admitted by league officials, may well have kept the New Orleans Saints from getting a chance to play in the Superbowl.
2 Saints fans have gone so far as to file a lawsuit demanding a judge order the final 2 minutes of Sunday’s Rams victory over the Saints be replayed.
While chances of them winning their court action would seem to be about as good as prospects that I might someday see, don’t discount the possibility that an activist judge may step in to throw the game in Atlanta in to turmoil.
The one thing that all of the NFL penalty reviews has done is to extend the length of the average game well past 3 hours giving fans more time to spend on the couch and more time to complain about calls that are missed or aren’t made to their liking.
that’s the way I see it.
