A tasty promotion that may run counter to those New years resolutions you made to shed some pounds is getting under way this week. The Girls Scouts organization is launching it’s annual cookie drive, expecting to sell millions of boxes of their patented cookies over the next several weeks in what is their largest annual fund raising promotion of the year. A new variety, Lemon Ups, has been added to their traditional offerings that include Thin Mints, Samoa’s and Tag A longs. The girls scouts organization says the sales help troop members to learn how to set goals, make decisions and manage money. Any parent of a girl scout also knows the sales drive can mean spending time in the cold selling cookies outside stores, living in homes with cookie boxes cluttering kitchen tables and utility rooms and driving vehicles full of boxes of the cookies which have been sold for delivery. There’s no need to blow any diet you’ve promised all at once. The girl scout cookies freeze real well and they’re just as delicious during the summer as they are when you buy them. That’s the way I see it.
