It’s not something that many of us will want to read, but I hope someone is working to chronicle the events of the past year during the Cporonavirus Pandemic. As we mark the first anniversary of the discovery of the first known case of Covid19 in Ohio today, I think it will be valuable some day to review everything we’ve lived through. Any honest telling of the story will have to detail the ways isolation lock downs and mandates have effected our lives: the number of family members we’ve lost or have suffered long term side effects from their encounter with the Coronavirus. I hope it will also detail the heroic ways so many people among us stepped up to help us cope, the tremendous speed at which vaccines to control the virus were developed from scratch and the monumental effort that’s still underway to vaccinate the most vulnerable among us against the virus. Hopefully some day soon we will be able to look at the coronavirus pandemic as a historical event. It will be valuable for people in the future to learn what we’ve lived through. That’s the way I see it.
