It was good to hear that Ohio Governor Mike Dewine tested negative for the Corona virus last night, but the way the story concerning the governor, the virus and testing has played out seems to prove one of the realities of the pandemic world in which we are living. The ease with which you can get tested and the speed in which you can get results does it seems depend on who you are and the job you do. Earlier in the day Thursday the Governor tested positive as part of the protocol for a planned meeting with President Trump at the airport in Cleveland. Mike Dewine said then that he would self quarantine at his home in Cedarville. . But, when the governor returned to Columbus last night, a second test was performed on him and that test yielded a negative result. While every day people who are suspicious that they might have covid19 may wait days for results, our governor got his in minutes. The story also raises questions about the reliability of results from virus testing. I won’t be writing or recording blogs next week, but not because of any health concerns. I’m taking a weeks vacation, whether I deserve it or not. That’s the way I see it.
