We don’t have the nice winter weather that you’ll find in the south and we don’t have some of the cultural and social opportunities you would fine in a major metropolitan area, but in general we’re a lot luckier than many of our fellow Americans across the country. A new Triple A survey released today shows the amount of time the average American spends behind the wheel of a vehicle has risen 8 percent over the past 5 years as more and more of us live farther from the places where we earn our paychecks.
Right now, the average American spends an hour a day driving to work and that’s great news for those of us in the radio business because we are often their constant companion. Stats like these make my 20 minute walk to work seem like a pretty good deal. That’s the way I see it.
