I’m sure some computer was to blame but a little human error was likely as responsible for a bit of fake news that showed up in the National Weather Service’s early morning Weather Forecast that Rick Burgei and I read around 4:00 this morning.
Because we’re among the first radio folks to be awake in the area, we apparently were first to notice that along with predictions for rain today and warmer temperatures for the period tomorrow through Sunday, was a line that predicted dangerously low wind-chill conditions, as low as 120 below Zero today through early next week.
The weather service people we contacted were as quick as you could expect they would be to send out a correction.
I’m not sure whether the miscue was caused by someone asleep at the switch somewhere, or a very late April Fools joke, but all is now good in weather land.
We can prepare to get out our spring clothing and won’t need that winter gear after all.
At least not for now.
That’s the way I see it…
