GREAT COUNTRY Music and 98.5 The Legend
This past Saturday night while some of our much hardier friends were sitting through a driving wind and rain to watch high school football my bride and I spent 2 very enjoyable hours at Van Wert’s Niswonger Performing Arts Center, watching and listening to 3 artists who tore up the country charts during the 1990’s in what was billed as The Boots & Roots Tour. Erin Tippen, Collin Raye and Sammy Kershaw entertained a packed hall performing many of their hits and taking an occasional poke at what’s called Country Music today. The show was excellent and it was amazing how many people in the audience knew all of the words to all of the songs that were sang which I think makes for an enjoyable show. For obvious reasons I can’t speak to the view from our NPAC seats, but the acoustics in the facility are some of the best around and unlike some other live shows I’ve attended the sound guys didn’t seem intent to deafen everyone who was there. If you get a chance to see those guys in concert I would highly recommend it. In the meantime I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that our newest Woofboom Radio station 985 The Legend plays classic country 24 hours a day on 98.5 FM and 940 AM, through alexa at WCIT radio or from their apps in the app stores. It’s worth a listen according to me. That’s the way I see it.
