GREAT JOB Kiwanis as ALWAYS
I would like to take my blog space today to send out congratulations and thanks to members of the Delphos Kiwanis Club. This past Friday evening, they hosted their 8th annual Home Town Christmas celebration in delphos. It was much different from others in the past which had been held in down town Delphos. This years’ was held in Stadium park and because of Coronavirus related restrictions it was changed considerably. There weren’t any visits with Santa on his lap. Instead the club hosted what may have been the first drive-in visits with Santa in the area. All masked up, Santa and Mrs. Claus visited with kids in their parents parked vehicles in the park. For just a few minutes they gave youngsters a little bit of normalcy during this Pandemic year of 2020, and over 300 kids were very glad they did. As one parent told me, the event was very well organized just like everything else the Kiwanis club does. Complying with all of the corona virus regulations wasn’t easy, but Kiwanis Club members did it for the children, and I’m sure a lot of Delphos area residents join me in thanking them because they did. That’s the way I see it.
