A year after most of us swore we’d never pay attention to college or professional sports again after they became so political, most of the folks I know seem to have sworn off that oath as evidenced by The number of people who seem to be paying attention to what college and pro teams are doing once again. Interest it seems was as high as I remember it in Saturdays’ Ohio State Michigan game And in Sundays Browns and Bengals NFL games. Perhaps that’s because the networks covering the college and professional sports events have toned down the rhetoric in hopes of recapturing lost ratings numbers, concentrating instead on the games themselves. Sports do provide an excellent diversion at a time when if you spend too much tink thinking about all of the negative things going on around us, it can put you in a funk that no vaccine will cure. That’s the way I see it.
