If you’re like most people I suspect you’ll feel no degree of sadness whatsoever that the 2,020 presidential campaign will finally end today. The contentious rhetoric that’s come from both major party candidate for the White House this year doesn’t seem to sit well with most voters I’ve spoken with and I actually think many will feel relief that the decision on who will occupy the white house come January will be made. I think most people hope whoever wins the presidential election today will do so by a margin wide enough that challenges of the voting process don’t hold up the final result for days or weeks. Most of us are old enough to remember when that happened in the past and that’s a bit of history I hope we don’t have to relive. One very encouraging thing for me is that despite all of the Coronavirus concerns it is possible that we just might set a new national voter turn out record. That’s good news for those of us who take the right to vote seriously, as we do the right to complain after we vote if the reults don’t turn out as we hoped they would. That’s the way I see it.
