Human Trafficking……………
It didn’t receive as much publicity as it might have if a presidential election weren’t a week away, and if we weren’t in the midst of the worst virus pandemic in a century, but the work of the Ohio Attorney Generals office and multiple federal and state agencies did in cracking a major human trafficking operation here in Ohio is certainly worthy of note. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced yesterday that what was called “operation autumn home” had resulted in the rescue of more than 100 victims of human trafficking and the arrest of 177 people accused of being part of something that’s nothing more than a modern day slave-trade: trafficking young people, often for sex, in exchange for cash. At a time when law enforcement is facing increasing scorn in some circles, Operation Autumn Hope sheds light on the positive work so many law officers do to keep us safe and in this case to try to protect the most vulnerable among us. That’s the way I see it.
