Because my new Dish Network package includes several channels that we didn’t have previously that play nothing but old TV shows and movies, I’ve found myself spending more time than normal in front of one of the TV’s in our house.
I guess it says something about me that I’d much rather spend what time I have for the tube, enjoying shows that went off the air some time ago.
There are the quirky, nonsensical comedies like Bewitched, and The Andy Griffith show, and the Spaghetti Westerns that make me laugh at their simple content.
I think their appeal to me is that I am not subjected to someone’s political views, their societal likes, or dislikes.
When I want to think about current events, I watch the news.
When it’s entertainment I’m looking for, I’m looking for a diversion.
That’s the way I se it.
