If you had been given the chance to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration, would you have made the trip to Washington D.C. to do so?
Whether or not you were among the majority of area residents who voted for our nations 45th President, you’d probably agree that being an in-person witness to history would be an interesting experience.
But for me, I’ll be happy to listen to the proceedings from the comfort of my recliner.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be in the audience as a spectator or reporter for area appearances by Presidents Reagan, the Bush’s and Obama during my career.
But perhaps because I’ve attended enough political gatherings, crowded sporting events, and concerts, that the thought of brushing shoulders with thousands of people for anything isn’t appealing at all to me.
I’m content in the knowledge that the reigns of power in the greatest country in the world will pass to Donald Trump without me being on hand.
That’s the way I see it.
