Is face to face communication in the past???????
A Cleveland Clinic researcher is sounding an alarm about what her study has determined are too many toddlers spending too much time using tablets and smart phone devices. While many grand-parents and even some parents may find the devices too complicated or too annoying to use, toddlers seem to be drawn to them and have no problem using them. the devices do make great baby sitters, but the problem according to Dr. Eva Love is that too much time glued to a device causes 2 and 3 year olds to miss out on face-to-face communications that are necessary for them to learn to speak clearly and socialize with others. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than 1 hour a day of device exposure but new Cleveland Clinic research indicates 79 percent of 2-year-olds, and 97 percent of 3-year-olds are exceeding that amount every day. Dr. Love is calling on parents to take steps to limit screen time for their toddlers. That sounds like very good advice to me. That’s the way I see it.
