Some of our nations biggest retailers may not like to use the word “Christmas, but they do love the revenue “Christmas” generates each year. So much so, that the biggest of them won’t even wait until Halloween this year to drop it’s first load of holiday deals. Wal-Mart says it’s first on line deals will be available this Friday and they’ll completely convert to “Christmas” next week. Wal-Mart and other retailers have been told they can expect record business from shoppers in stores and on their websites, but worry that we’ll have 6 fewer days to shop this year because of the way the holiday falls. There was a time that people complained that the shopping season was starting too early, but I think we’ve pretty much come to expect that that’s the way it’s going to be. That’s the way I see it.
