One of the favorite sayings of a very good friend of mine is “just because computers can, doesn’t mean they should.” I suspect once they get all of the egg off their faces leaders of the Iowa Democratic Party just might agree. They’re blaming the crash of a brand new Smart Phone app for the fact that final results from their party caucuses Monday night, still hadn’t been released as of early today. It seems the app hadn’t been thoroughly tested before it was pressed in to service with the promise that it would speed up data collection. Conspiracy theorists will point out that the app was developed by a company headed by 2 people who are former associates of Hillary Clinton, but party officials blame the debacle on ineptness. I’ll bet there will be a push to go back to paper ballots in time for the 2024 Iowa caucuses and democratic party leaders in New Hampshire which holds the next presidential primary say they’ll be using paper and pencil to record votes next Tuesday. sounds like a smart idea to me. That’s the way I see it.
