One of the biggest challenges for sports talk show hosts early this week may be to try to build any suspense whatsoever into the NBA championship series between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.
After the Cavs last second brain lapse in game one, and a 19 point loss in game two, they find themselves in what sounds to me like an insurmountable hole going into game 3 in Cleveland.
The only suspense left in the series may be what night the Warriors close it out.
Then, the chatter will turn almost immediately to talk about where King James will play starting next season, and that’s likely to last for most of the summer as the best player in pro basketball weighs his options and plays the field.
My personal guess is that Golden State will win in 5 or 6 games.
And that the only way LeBron will return to Cleveland is if he gets a monster multi-year contract that no one else is willing to commit to along with a percentage of Cavs team ownership.
That’s the way I see it.
