LIVING a MUCH LONGER LIFE………………
Results of recent studies that reached my desk this morning confirm the idea that happiness is good for your health. Several new studies link an optimistic attitude with a lower risk for heart disease and greater longevity. Researchers at the prestigious Mayo Clinic have some suggestions on how we can see the brighter side of life including fostering an attitude of gratitude and associating with people who believe in you. Their advice does also include exercising, maintaining a good body weight, eating well and avoiding toxins. I have a suggestion too, and that is to surround yourself with people who are positive and avoiding as much as possible people who seem to thrive on making others around them unhappy. I don’t know if having a positive attitude will mean a longer life, but I do know That walking around feeling grouchy or feeling sorry for yourself will make the minutes we do have to live go a whole lot more slowly. That’s the way I see it.
