Your parents probably gave you their share of advice when you were growing up.
They told you to brush your teeth, do your homework and save your pennies.
Perhaps they should have told you to invest in a Major League baseball team.
Forbs Magazine is out with its list of the 2,019 values of all of the teams in Major League baseball
and my Cleveland Indians who haven’t won a world title since before I was born, are reported to be worth a whopping 1.15 Billion dollars.
That makes them only the 25th most valuable team in the sport.
6 straight winning seasons, and rising TV ratings have caused the team’s net worth to climb 10 percent in the past year alone.
So much for the plight of small market baseball teams.
While the Indians value was surprisingly large to me, it is less than a third of the worth of baseballs most valuable team the New York Yankees
and much less than half of the sports 2nd richest ball club the Los Angeles dodgers.
Who says sports is nothing ore than a diversion.
It looks like a gold mine to me.
That’s the way I see it.
