What is already a crowded looking field of candidates and potential candidates for the presidency next year, could get larger with word that the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks is contemplating a potential white house bid.
A story in a New York newspaper quotes Mark Cuban as saying that he would only run if he thought he could offer solutions to the problems facing America and that if he did he would run as an independent candidate.
A Cuban independent run would no-doubt add even more turmoil to what’s already sure to be a tumultuous campaign.
One thing is sure. If Cuban decides to run, he wouldn’t have to ask for the first donor dollar if he chose to spend some of his billions to make a White House bid. Don’t discount the chances of a pro sports team owner becoming president. There were those who said a reality TV personality wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance.
That’s the way I see it.
