Men, our thinking process and why we can be WRONG…….
Results of a newly released study conducted at Cleveland Clinic might be considered startling by some, but I think they are right on the money.
Researchers wanted to know why so many men neglect going to the doctor
and they found that nearly 80 percent of the men they surveyed said they’d rather do household chores or shop with their significant other than get a check up.
Many of those men told researchers they didn’t want to visit a doctor for a check up because they might have to change their lifestyles or face negative health issues.
I’ve said for decades that I hated to go to the doctor because if you went often enough someone would find something wrong, but I consider myself fortunate that at the strong urging of folks in my family, when I had a suspicion that something might be wrong, I did follow up last summer and the result was that cancer in my bladder hadn’t spread elsewhere and with chemotherapy treatment and surgery I’m not likely to be just a memory any time soon.
But honestly, I’d still rather spend an hour at Hobby Lobby with my wife than go to the doctor.
That’s the way I see it.
