Well here we are…waiting for the next winter blast to hit western Ohio.
As I write this, there are so many conflicting reports and estimates of how much weather, and what kind of wintery precipitation that we’re going to get over the next couple of days, that it’s pretty much take your pick.
Because bigger is generally better, the forecasts predicting the most snow and ice, the most gusty winds and coldest temperatures will always be the ones getting the most play and discussion.
It seems to me that forecasting weather is like so many other things in our lives in that what we don’t know far exceeds what we do.
In my next life, I think I’d like to be a weather forecaster, a consultant, or financial analyst.
The forecaster who is wrong can always blame Mother Nature.
The consultant who’s strategies aren’t successful can always blame a lack of follow-through.
The financial manager can blame unforeseen circumstances for missing the mark.
The one thing you can be sure of is that we’ll have the weather information you need to know on air or on our website.
That’s the way I see it.
