A suggestion from Cleveland Clinic has me in kind of a quandry.
The hospital is suggesting that I take time to watch/listen to a video from their website which will detail what to expect during my forthcoming bladder cancer surgery.
One part of me wants to do it so that I know what to expect since, like most folks I suppose, I’m not a big fan of the unknown or the unexpected.
But, there’s another part of me that would rather not know what will be done to me during what I am told will be a 7 to 8 hour surgical procedure next week.
I suppose, in the end, I’ll take their suggestion rather than subscribe to the “ignorance is bliss” theory.
My biggest questions are how long I’ll have to fast prior to surgery and how long it’s likely to be before I can eat solid food.
Regardless, I’m doing my best to prepare for the changes I’m about to experience whether known, or unknown, at this time.
That’s the way I see it.
