So what will you be doing this New Year’s Eve?
We’re planning on an evening with dinner, dueling pianos, and some time with friends.
Playing in a band as I did for 16 years I came to recognize New Year’s Eve as “amateurs night” when folks not used to doing so would have too much to drink and exchange sloppy kisses with total strangers at midnight.
“The We” always sounded best when party goers had some time to “warm up” prior to our start, and I’m sure that’s still the case.
New Year’s Eve for many of my friends is spent watching a ball drop from Time Square on a TV program featuring artists they’ve never heard of, and trying to stay awake until midnight.
And, of course, this year there’s a team from Columbus in action New Year’s Eve who may draw a little attention as well.
We’re going to try something different this year. And just like every holiday, it’s more about who you are doing it with than it is what exactly you are doing.
So, Happy New Year to you & yours, no matter what you are doing & where you’re doing it. And please be safe because I wouldn’t want ANY of you to be a New Year’s casualty!!
That’s the way I see it.
