A disturbing trend that we’ve been seeing for a number of years is continuing as documented  by the ballots many voters saw when they went to the polls in the November General Election. That’s the number of positions on government bodies and school boards that weren’t decided by contested races, or had no candidates filing for the positions at all.  In society today it seems there is a growing distrust of and  disrespect   for people who take the plunge in to public service. Seats on local government bodies and school boards come with little pay and   with a lot of responsibility. The work office holders do is often taken for granted by the people being served too. I’d like to personally thank the men  and women who decided to run for elected office, whether or not you got elected. That’s the way I see it..
